, is a pioneering Tanzanian musician and former radio presenter whose fusion of Bongo Flava, R&B, and traditional Taarab earned her the title "The Queen of Bongo Flava" during the early 2000s.
After launching her music career at Dar es Salaam's Clouds FM, she released a string of successful albums including
Mapenzi Yangu
(2003) and
Sogea Sogea
(2006), becoming one of East Africa's most decorated female artists with multiple Tanzania Music Awards.
Despite a career hiatus due to high-profile health and personal struggles, she remains a significant cultural icon who helped globalize Tanzanian music; more recently, she has embraced a new chapter of life in Europe, welcoming her first child, Shahrukh, in February 2023.
