Dina Bell (born Charles Dina Bell) is one of those artists who completely defined the sound of Cameroon's golden era. If you’ve ever dug into classic Makossa from the late 70s and 80s, you know his voice instantly. While a lot of Makossa at the time was fast and intense, Dina Bell brought a smoother, deeply emotional feel to the genre. He sang mostly in the Duala language, delivering beautiful melodies over sophisticated horn sections and tight, driving basslines.
